The 2016 Salute the Stars awards luncheon, presented by the John Lynch Foundation along with the Reiman Foundation and FourPoint Energy, will be held on Friday, May 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sports Authority Field.

The annual event honors student-athletes, including those with special needs from around the state. Several students being recognized excel in academics, athletics, community involvement, and are shining examples of young leaders in their communities.

A young leader in her own right, this year’s featured speaker is Denver native and four-time Olympic Gold-Medalist Missy Franklin.

In the last 18 years, the John Lynch Foundation has awarded $825,000 in scholarships to many deserving youth.
