The 2014 Salute the Stars awards luncheon, presented by the Reiman Foundation and FourPoint Energy, was held on Friday, May 2nd at Sports Authority Field in Denver. More than 2,800 guests attended the event in honor of remarkable student athletes across Colorado. The luncheon raised more than $410,000 to fund the John Lynch Foundation’s youth programs and scholarship endowment. “We are proud to support the student athletes honored here today who have inspired us through their leadership and dedication,” said Scott Reiman, managing director of the Reiman Foundation. Fifteen awards and scholarships, totaling $86,000, were awarded to deserving winners. In addition to the student athlete honorees and corporate sponsors, this year’s event included 1,800 student athletes from Denver Public School, Aurora Public Schools and other local school districts. Five-time NFL MVP Peyton Manning delivered a motivating keynote speech filled with humor, inspiration and his own personal insight into leadership. The event was capped off by Peyton throwing an autographed football to two lucky guests from the stands.
